About Coach Abdelrahman

Abdelrahman Tarek is a calisthenics coach with PT DXB and the head calisthenics coach at Y Fitness DXB. He has spent 12 years coaching in Dubai, and his own training comes from calisthenics and parkour: learning to control your whole body, not just move weights around.

That is what he teaches. Clients get stronger, leaner and more mobile using their own bodyweight, and they leave each block of training able to do something they could not do before.

The roadmap: from first rep to first skill

Every client gets a clear path, broken into stages. You move on when the current stage is solid, not before.

Stage 1: Build the base

  • Clean, full-range push-ups and squats
  • Your first strict pull-up, or the steps that get you there
  • Hollow body and plank holds for a strong midsection
  • Hip, shoulder and wrist mobility so the next stages feel easy on the joints

Stage 2: Control and balance

  • Dips, harder pull-up variations and single-leg squat work
  • Wall handstands and balance drills
  • L-sit and compression strength

Stage 3: The skills people film

  • Muscle-up
  • Freestanding handstand
  • Front lever and human flag progressions

Why calisthenics works so well in Dubai

  • No gym needed: a living room, a building gym or a shaded park is enough
  • Works around your week: sessions come to you, so there is no commute in the traffic or the heat
  • Goes where you go: bodyweight training travels with you, so you keep progressing on work trips and holidays
  • Strength that carries over: better posture, stronger joints and more energy for everything else you do

Inside a session

  1. Joint prep: wrists, shoulders, hips and spine warmed up properly
  2. Skill block: practice on your current skill while you are fresh
  3. Strength block: progressions matched to your level, with coaching on every rep
  4. Finisher: a short conditioning burst
  5. Homework: two or three drills to practice before the next session

Who a calisthenics personal trainer is right for

A calisthenics personal trainer is a great fit if you want to get strong and lean without a gym full of machines. Abdelrahman often coaches:

  • Beginners who cannot do a push-up or pull-up yet and want a clear starting point
  • People who train at home or in a building gym with little equipment
  • Clients chasing skills like the pull-up, dip, handstand or muscle-up
  • Runners, climbers and other athletes who want better body control
  • Anyone who wants to move better, with more mobility and fewer aches

Calisthenics at home: what you need

Very little. A floor, a wall and, later, a pull-up bar or a pair of rings are enough for years of progress. Your calisthenics personal trainer brings simple kit such as resistance bands and parallettes to the first sessions, then helps you choose what is worth buying for training between sessions.

Results you can expect

In the first month most clients feel stronger in basic movements and notice better posture. Within two to three months, the usual results are a first full push-up or pull-up, visible muscle tone and better mobility. Because calisthenics uses your own bodyweight, the strength you build carries straight into everyday life. Your calisthenics personal trainer tracks your reps, holds and skills, so every few weeks you can see exactly how far you have come.

Where Abdelrahman trains

He comes to you: at home, in your building gym or in a park anywhere in Dubai.

Why train with a calisthenics personal trainer?

A calisthenics personal trainer teaches you to control your own bodyweight safely and progress at the right pace, from your first push-up to advanced skills. This kind of strength work also counts towards the NHS recommendation of muscle-strengthening activity on at least 2 days a week.

Prices

Your first session is free. After that, choose a package: 10 sessions for AED 3,000, 20 sessions for AED 5,250 or 30 sessions for AED 7,500.

FAQ

I can’t do a single pull-up. Can I still start?

Yes. Most clients start there. Stage 1 is built for exactly this, with assisted and partial versions that build up to a full rep. Want a head start? Read our step-by-step guide to your first pull-up.

Do I need a pull-up bar at home?

Not to start. A lot of the base work needs only the floor. When you are ready for pulling work, Abdelrahman will suggest simple options for your space.

Is calisthenics good for losing weight?

Yes. It builds muscle and burns energy, and combined with sensible eating it is a strong way to get leaner while getting stronger.

How long until I get a muscle-up or a handstand?

It depends on your starting point and how often you train. After your first session, Abdelrahman will give you an honest estimate and a plan to get there.
